The animals who mark the years
I remember chapters of family life by who was beside us.
The constant
My sister Jodi and I have always understood the particular joy, responsibility, and honesty of loving animals.

An animal does not need me to perform. It asks me to be present, dependable, and exactly who I am.
In my own words
Animals are one of the deepest common threads between Jodi and me. Their company has carried through many chapters of our lives. They bring me back to the day itself: the walk, the weather, a familiar look, the simple promise of showing up again tomorrow.
I remember chapters of family life by who was beside us.
What care, patience, and boundaries look like without words.
The love of animals that has always connected my sister and me.
A letter, occasionally
What I am noticing, making, questioning, and learning. I will write when there is something honest to share.
